Watched this last night.
When the Martians came to Earth to bury the tripods, why didn't they just stay then?

I agree. Why not just colonise the planet then. I was disappointed with the film. And the big fight behind the hill - I wanted to see that and we got stuffed on the deal. I generally buy the films I see at the cinema and this was an exception - I'll stick with the old classic.

They couldn't afford the petrol to get them to earth, they had to save up before coming. Then there was the problem of the machines themselves, according to my sources, the MOT'S expired, so law and behold, they had to get the machines fixed. Took them a long time, but they got here in the end and kicked some ***.

the planet was not mature enouge, so from accros the gulf of space minds emmesurabley superior to owers regarded this earth with envious eyes and slowly but surley they drew there plans against us.

i agree reading the book will give you a better idea and the fact that this is a hollywood remake and a bad one of that should have changed the title of the film after all
