I didn't recognize any of the candidate's names for the City Council, so i wrote my own name in, i was just wondering if anybody else did the same.

No! Thanks to the democracy of this wonderful country it does not matter how you vote. The point is you voted and you have the choice to vote! Kudos to you for voting !

I don't do that but I think that is a better idea than voting for someone that you don't know anything about. You know that you don't have to vote in every race, don't you?

You ought to take some interest in your city government. Attend some planning and council meetings. They are mostly pretty boring but it doesn't take long to appreciate what those people are doing and how they do their jobs.

It is not wrong. It is a good thing to mention because some people think that we can only vote for the we see on TV but we are free to write in anyones name to vote for.

I say we all vote for some no-name person. I bet he/she could run the country better then the current actors that continue their saga year after year. Lets kick the actors out of the White House and get real and I VOTE PEDRO!!!! VOTE FOR PEDRO!!!

I would rather vote for some one real then to vote for neo-con-actors that stand-up and proclaim they tell us all there is to know about them.

You are absolutely entitled to do that. Of course, unless you told a lot of other people to write your name in too, you are unlikely to win, so some people might say you are "wasting" your vote. But that is your right and your privilege.

Sure.
I always write my dog's name in, if I don't care about the particular election.
