There is a secret to it. It is called DEMINTIONAL ANALYSIS.
You sound as though you are starting your first chem class, and probably in high school, so learn dementional analysis also know as the factor lable method and everything else will flow.
The chemical formulas actually tell you what you are working with, and yes it may seem silly that one little number misplaced or not placed at all, or even the wrong number could make a difference but they do. That one little number in a formula means it is an entirely different compound with entirely different properites (some of the time).
You need it because this day in age any jobs in the med field or high paying jobs want people who have proven themselves to be intelligent and taking chem will certainly do that.
If you put some good hard studying into it you will get it. Go to tutorial or get a home tutor what ever you need to get it do so.
Don't give up the fight, stay strong! Chem is really fun you just have to give it some time.
Think of it like this, anything that you can buy had a chemist involved with it at some point before you bought it. That is power!

The secret is you have to enjoy it. And it sounds like you need it. Try to stop fighting yourself when you study. Relax, turn off your cell. Shut off the radio and T.V. Now, don't fall asleep! Start with something you already understand in chemistry. Anything. work on that. If there's nothing, google it. Find something cool that chemistry is used for. Give it a chance. I like to tell people you can't hate something if you don't know what it is. Like country music. My kids hated country music because I did. They never gave it a chance. What they didn't know is while I prefer other genres to listen to, I love going to country concerts. The people are so nice and it's always been a good time for me.
Besides, with all the high tech, genetically perfect superbrains of the future, you're going to need all the science you can get to compete in the job market.

Chemistry is a very difficult subject requiring strength in math and science. A way to try to get a good grade is to study so you are confident in your tests and assignments. As well, if you are having trouble on a certain topic, ask your teacher for help and keep at it until you get it down. Good luck!

all of life around you is made up of chemicals, including your body, what you eat, cooking is chemistry, baking a cake is chemistry, a formula is just like maths, adding a few things together, like when you cook, like making a cake, 2 eggs plus one cup flour plus one cup water plus half cup butter plus heat plus time equals a cake. Now translate that into shorthand, and its a formula, no difficulty, right? chemicals like sodium, carbon, oxygen, hydrogen, now Oxygen plus Hydrogen equal water. Carbon has 3 forms, graphite in pencils helps us write, in diamond form is beautiful and costly, and in charcoal state we use to draw beautiful pictures, like Leonardo da Vinci did and Michelangelo too.
That is the importance to myself of chemicals, and of learning chemistry. Its not that hard, just that your teacher is not good!! Find a good book, and first see if you need it for your purpose in life - if you want to be a doctor you will, if you want to be an artist, perhaps not. Good luck with whatever you do in life, and give it your all, try your best in your studies and your life, you only have the one chance from God.

chlorine explodes with hydrogen in sunlight llik wow
and sodium react with water so rapidly that heat is given out which then makes the hydrogen burn and melts the metal
come on its not that bad im studying 4 my chem test and it aint that hard

Just look around you as you sit at your desk. Everywhere you look are compounds and mixtures of compounds. Chemistry is EVERYWHERE
