All you need to know to keep this from being confusing is the mathematical order of operations--the order in which you do things to simplify a problem:

Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition, then Subtraction.

Remember this with the anagram:

to solve your problem:

first multiply (-9)(5)= -45
then divide by -3
