has educational system in india stopped producing intellectuals?

Indian schools are teaching students only what they NEED to know and nothing further. They teach them a lot of facts, but not how to think. (this is told to me by indians by the way , because i know some of you will think i am racist).
They are still producing Engineers more than most other countries and many are going into the medical field. But only those who go to colleges abroad will receive good paying jobs.
