Republicans believe that poor people have too much money, and rich people do not have enough. So they support cutting taxes, as well as cutting benefits for poor people.
Democrats believe the opposite. So they support raising taxes, and raising benefits for poor people.

Today, there is no difference. The parties have been evolving lately. the GOP seems to be in flux, as well as the Democrats.
Classically, the GOP believed in the principles of Jefferson and the ORIGINAL democrats, while the CURRENT democrats belived in the principles of the federalists....
More or less... But the parties seem to be turning more into a culture club these days.

Republicans support conservative issues. Most support bans on gay marriage and abortion. Basically think very strick moral and religious (Christian) values. However, they are the rich mans party and arent into welfare type policies. Basically, they think government should stay out of everyones busness and leave their money alone.
Democrats support liberal issues. The support a womens right to an abortion and things like stem cell research. They pull more towards the workers of the country by endorsing welfare and education reform. They want more money to be given to the needy.
Thats just my take...it goes a bit deeper than that, but thats the basics.

A Republican is one who is conservative and is closest in holding to the truths of the bible (what our constitution was drafted after). A democrat is a lunatic that opposes everything the Republicans support. Those crazy democrats!

republicans are ignorant shlocks who make the prices of weed higher and brought on the drug war because god told them to.
dems make weed cheaper.. more available and they don't god to hold their hand in order to make any decision. and dems can go to the bathroom on their own.
dems can chew their food... unlike the republicans and dems don't think that stem cell research will bring about the end of the world.
dems also have a known i.q. level.
