Internal modems generally go into any free PCI slot, but I have to agree with the first poster- I have NEVER seen an internal cable modem. Those have always been external devices- there are some which don't have Ethernet ports and only connect via USB (which I'd avoid). I assume we're talking about a PC, with PCI slots, here?
If so, then expansion cards like your modem will go in any open slot. Just remove the lid, take out the blanking panel at the rear of the case, plugyou card in and secure it....
Be careful to remove power from the unit, and ground everything to prevent static damage.

I have never even heard of an internal CABLE modem, but it would attach to PCI or PCI Express slots, just like all other periphs. If it is a laptop, PCMCIA slot, but that is not really internal. USB or Firewire if it is external.
