This is my first child, so is this normal to be feeling at this time? I'm not due until the 28th. Does anyone think there is a chance that my little one could come early? I have been having a lot more discharge in the last few days also. I'm just curious....any advice will help!

After wiping yesterday I did notice a little streak of blood with the discharge. Is this normal? I had a vaginal exam on monday so they could see if the babies head was down.

Yay- I am due the same day as you :), but with my 3rd child. What you are feeling is call Braxten Hicks. What is happening is that your cervix is thinning, you are dilating, and the baby is moving down. You could definetly go any day now, or you could always be a week or 2 late. Only your body knows exactly when. If you can time the period like pains- then you are starting labor. IF it is here and there it is just your body getting ready. I would call your doctor about the blood. It could be the exam or did you have sex? It is better to know than not to. Good luck and enjoy your little baby. I can't wait!

Medical field considers 36 wk full-term. They'll let you go if you spontaneous labor. When I had my Braxton-Hicks; I took a relaxing bath, napped, etc. I was worried that I wouldn't know when I would go into labor, you defintly know when you do. When in doubt, go to the hospital to make sure. With both my children I pre-registered so that when it was time I didn't have to worry. With my oldest; I was really glad I had pre-registered because I was dilated at an 8 when I got there (I had labored at home for 1 1/2 days before hand though). At the time I couldn't even talk!!! With my youngest I was induced so registeration was a breeze. Also another thing to remember is keep your labor coach on retainer.
Don't forget to go for your checks, the dr should be checking your cervic, your amniotic fluid levels. Good Luck!!!!

this is pretty much normal for this late in pregnancy. you could be having braxton hicks contractions, or it could be the muscles stretching and relaxing preparing for the labor. im due the 28th as well my ob told me at this point the baby is considered full term and would more than likely be fine if delivered now. i have also been having these cramps. try changing positions when you are having these cramps to see if it helps. if you start having contractions 5-6 minutes apart or six within an hour go to the hospital, or of course if your water breaks go immediately to the hospital.
good luck and congratulations

Sounds like you are fine. Sometimes after exams you spot a little bit. I had the cramping the day I started labor. It could be the in the early stages. But don't worry, you are fine and the baby is fine. It is all normal. Just relax and take it easy.
Good luck and an early congrats to you and yours :)

It's normal.. but its no indictatio of when you'll have the baby. I had cramping for WEEKS before i gave birth and i was 2 weeks overdue. The cramping is just your body getting ready for labor and preparing you... A good sign of labor is losing your mucus plug- but then again thats another thing that doesnt mean labor soon-- i lost mine 3 weeks before i had to be induced... However-- im sure the cramps are uncomfy now-- but when it's labor.. you will know. you wont even question if they are contractions. hehe you wont be able to think or stand or whatever-- they will totally stop you in your tracks. Good luck.

Your little one might come early, but chances are that you are just having Braxton Hicks contractions, where your body is getting itself ready for delivery. Good Luck either way. Braxton Hicks can sometimes be sort of strong and feel like real labor pains. Best Wishes!!

They could just be Braxton hicks, but if they get strong, consistent and painful I would say call your doctor and get to the hospital.
Some doctors say after the 36 week anytime is a good time to go into labor (some believe week 37) A lot of women never make it to the 40 week date. I went into labor at 36 weeks and my doctor stop it ( he is one that likes to wait till after 37 weeks) and then my water broke at 39 weeks.

chances are it's just little braxton hicks contractions. it's totally normal though. Since you're 37 weeks along just be on the look out if the pain gets worse it could be a signal that your little one is ready to join the world. Congrats!!

In the last little bit of preganancy you may feel tightening in the stomach area or vagianl area. Also discharge may be mucus plug, you may go early you maynot anytime at this point is fine..
