Yea it runs better on the PS2 then the PS1 because I just finished it again recently. Just remember if you play it on the PS2 you have to have a PS memory card because it won't save on the PS2 memory card.

i guess you're asking if it has that half second of noticible lag that happens when screens change (like when the battle scenes start)
this happens on all games that are played from discs. it is especially apparent when you are used to playing hard cartridges, like gameboy, nintendo, or super nintendo.
the extra second of lag that happened frequently on FFVII on the regular playstation was cut in half on the ps2 because the computer is more powerful, and it's only really noticible when you look for it.
--------
on a side note, it doesn't matter if a game is good or not, that has nothing to do with the question

Yes, it runs fine. And I believe these people who are calling the game "disappointing" are referring to FFVII - Dirge of Cerberus, and I believe you are talking about the original VII that came out for PS1, right? Nothing disappointing about the original VII, great game. But Dirge of Cerberus was a disappointment.

It runs decently but it isn't as good as some of the other FF versions.
