People voted dem because they dont like the war. Im a republican too, and I dont really get the dem stance. They seem to be a bit shady, but they are a change. If people dont feel like they're being represented (and they dont) they seek change. Thats whats happening now. Basically the democrats won because they arent republican. But I dont really see much changing policy-wise. I cant see anything happening with abortion or gay marriage or even the war. In fact, I see a massive stalemate on most issues. Neither side has been very good at getting things into motion as of late.

LMAO~ you are funny dude. Now stop picking on the Republicans, They had a hard night last night. And stop baiting the Democrats, They had a hard night last night as well. Now they have to put up or shut up.

And now guys like JIM W can have their Gloatfest like they have wanted for so long. But Monday morning is going to be very scary for them. They don't need the aggravation, they need to look very hard and try to find a plan. That doesn't alienate their base.

Scare tactics .. maybe
This is a transcript of a political commercial in Georgia.. These are Democratic leaders.
"This is Congressman John Lewis."
"And I'm Mayor Shirley Franklin"
"And I'm Andy Young"
(John Lewis) "On November 7th we face the most dangerous situation we ever have. If you think fighting off dogs and water hoses in the sixties was bad, imagine if we sit idly by and let the right-wing Republicans take control of the Fulton County Commission."
(Shirley Franklin) "The efforts of Martin and Coretta King, Hosea Williams, Maynard Jackson and many others will be lost. That's why we must stand up and we must turn out the vote for the Democrats on Election Day."
(Andy Young) "And especially for John Eaves for Fulton County Commission Chairman. Unless you want them to turn back the clock on equal rights and human rights and economic opportunity for all of us, vote for John Eaves as Fulton County Chairman"
(Lewis) "Your very life may depend on it."
(John Eaves) "This message paid for by the committee to elect John Eaves."

This is supposed to be a free country and that means one party cannot always control all levels of the government. If that is what you want than you are a fascist. All politicians promise things, few ever deliver and we the people decided to oust the incumbents. That's politics. It seems that the republicans wish that Bush had the same kind of power Saddam use to have. What is it again this war was about? Oh, that's right; OIL.

Forgive me for generalizing, yet your view strikes me as oftentimes Republican/conservative. As a number of different respondents have wisely referred to, the Democrats have a narrow majority interior the residing house and parity interior the Senate and perform decrease than a Republican (neoconservative, kleptocratic, usurper) President, which modern-day to them the hindrances of filibusters and presidential vetoes. i might flow extra and say that if the residing house and Senate had good Democratic majorities and operated decrease than a Democratic President that could nonetheless no longer placed the Democratic party "on top of issues" of something. Our founding fathers wisely placed provisions interior the form that ward off any majority, in spite of the undeniable fact that good, from thoroughly dominating or bullying any minority, in spite of the undeniable fact that small and week. If we are able to get this usa returned to ideal appreciate and obeyance of our Constitutional rules and rules, something imho we desperately would desire to do, all events ought to, might and could be particularly represented. it somewhat is not winner take all, it somewhat is the U.S.

People voted democrat to "teach" President bush a lesson form what I hear. We will just have to see where things go from here. We cannot stress over things we cannot control.
