Death, like all other phases in life is change, and yeah, I'm resistant to change, but not afraid of it. It's natural and inevitabe. I've heard I was scared of birth, I think death will be much the same...and leading to something much better.

Like you, I am not afraid of dying, I am afraid of dying painfully. I have a great fear of either drowning or burning alive. I think those would be a terrible, painful ways to go.

No. As a Christian I do not need to fear death because I do not need to fear the inevitable judgement of God. The sting of death is the fear of dying in sin. Death is simply a different existence. When you're driving and your car dies, do you cease to exist? No, you're just walking instead of driving. The only question about after physical death is, whose neighbourhood are you going to be hanging out in.

As a hospice nurse and end of life educator, I have no fear, and my work is to relieve fear of those I serve with compassionate education. Learning to live consciously is also helpful and many people diagnosed with life-threatening illness learn this important lesson. This is why I just released a book to help with all of this. Live well!

I'm not so much afraid to die but I am afraid that I will die before I accomplish my goals. Why be afraid of something that you can not control?
