I think it is kind of like when something taste bad people are like yuck here taste this or when something smells bad they want you to smell it.

The better question is why people always repeat lines from movies or television. For instance ... Bill Cosby says, "... and my wife STOOD UP in the stirups ..." and your friend will look at you and say ... "STOOD UP in the stirups!" I'm sitting right here ... experiencing it WITH you ... ugh! Shut up!

force of nature maybe? Maybe they think for some reason you were looking away at that very moment something amazing happened in the movie and they wanted to make sure.
