Oh he'll be held accountable all right, but I'm not really surprised. Come on, he was already enormously unpopular among US military commanders already!! Why would he want to sit there like a big, fat piñata with a Democratic majority looking for his head too?

I think he's just retreating to a fortified position for the media onslaught that's coming...

Well I think his resignation is long overdue; however, before we get too accusatory, other than Roosevelt's reign during Pearl Harbor, this president has had to contend with a disaster in 2001 unmatched historically in this country. My heart is broken over the losses of every life of our precious soldiers and I want us out of there, but the leaders of this presidential regime were faced with historical monumental issues and they are definitely accountable, but there's no way to measure whether or not a different party could have done better.
