I'm always tired, my breasts are a little tender, I've had bad mood swings and my period is about a week late. I took a test but the line was really faint and the instructions stated the line would be bold. I'm planning on taking the other test in a couple days and if I have the same result I'm going to the doc. Does anyone know what the faint line means (if anything)?

I knew someone who was 7 months pregnant and she didn't show up on pregnancy tests. It's all in the amount of hormones in your urine. If there are a lot you can know sooner with a home test. The faint line probably means that there were some hormones but not enough to give the bold line. Wait the couple of days and see, don't stress yourself out about the line clarity, it might just be your body and could have no basis on whether or not you're pregnant. The only way to know for sure is a doctor visit.

With those HPT's, you only need 1 bold line (which happens right away to let you know the test is working) & the other line can be faint & it would still mean you are pregnant. If you look at a negative more than 5 minutes it will look positive.. The line will appear very faint... My best advice to you is to go to your doctor now, don't wait. You can get a pee test done & the results are 100% accurate. Then you will know.. That's what I had to do cause I took 5 before I got a positive on my daughter. Waiting & wondering can drive you crazy I know all about it, so go to your doctor k sweetie? Good luck & God Bless.

with my 1st child my pregnancy test showed a line in the "control" window and a faint almost not seen line in the positive window. the faintness may have to do with you not being very far along.waiting a day or two before taking another test should make a difference. you hcg (pregnancy hormones) double every day

If you can see a line, no matter how faint you may be pregnant. I had faint lines with both of my pregnancies. Go to the doctor and take a test to be sure.

One line should be bold, it is the line saying that you did the test right. If you are not pregnant the other line shouldn't be there at all. If you are pregnant the other line SHOULD be bold, but that doesn't mean it will be. You have the highest amount of the Hormone in your morning urine, so test again in the morning first thing.

A line is a line! As long as you have the control line there the test is right. Faint lines are positive!

If you have 2 lines even if they are faint then it means positive. But to be on the safe side, go ahead and retake a test.

Well if it showed up where the pregnant line should show up then yes you are probably pregnant but i would still take another test just to be sure... This time try to take the test as soon as you wake up doctors have told me that there is more of the hormone in your urine when you first go to the bathroom in the morning.

Any test I have taken has said if there is any line faint or not then you are pregnant. Call the number on the box and ask about it, they could probably tell you if it is right or not.
