He didn't take the kittens, too? That's odd. Usually he'll take the cats (needs road-food ya know).
Hmmm...just go get another one and make sure you bar the door and lock the windows, before he comes back for the kitties.

Call the police and file a report. That freaking Wolverine is a little primadonna since the big screen debut. He "keyed" my car the other day right in front of the gardener. A**hole. He's so big and scary -- boo hoo. That's the mentality that gives him the power over you to steal. Oh, you can make a temporary post for your kitty buy wrapping some carpet fragments over a block of wood and then screwing it to a stud in the wall. That way, you can choose the color. It helps to add some good fresh catnip too.

Perhaps bring in a large fir tree ala National Lampoons Christmas Vacation for them to scratch on and get their play.

maybe you could try talking to Professor X and get him to tell Wolverine to give it back.....If you want real power however talk to Magneto he can do it so he'll never steal your kitty post again LOL!!!
