I have a really sharp pain in my lower left abdominal area, it started during sex and it's been two days now, and it's still pretty intense. I've just been taking pain killers so I can deal with it, I'm hoping it will pass because I don't have insurance. From eveything I've read and talking to people, I'm thinking it might be an ovarian cyst, has anyone had this? Can it just go away?

When I was 20, I had a fairly large ovarian cyst. I figured "no big deal. I'll just get it removed". Well I had the surgery only they didn't remove the cyst. They sewed it open so that it wouldn't occur again. Then, the summer I turned 23, I got really really sick. It lasted off and on for about 6 months or more. People were asking me if I was pregnant and everything. Finally I got so sick that I could barely walk. I thought maybe it was a UTI, as dumb as that sounds. But because I get them frequently, it wouldn't be unheard of. So, my boyfriend at the time took me to the ER and they admitted me for testing. About a week after that, I had an MRI and they told me I had an extremely large mass in my abdomen. They transferred me to a larger hospital and in two days, we found out through surgery, that since I had let the pain go on for so long, that 2 abnormally huge cysts had grown on my ovary and had also grown into my intestinal wall. The surgeon had to remove the cysts as well as one of my ovaries. The kicker of the whole long story is this: two years before my surgery, I had to go in for an MRI and the doctor told me that I had a very tiny cyst on my ovary and that I wasn't to worry because most women do develop cysts during their menstrual cycle that will or may burst either during or after their period.
Ok, I know I have been long winded and I apologize. But if you are that concerned about your pain being an ovarian cyst, then you should really at least try to go to planned parenthood to get it checked out. Most of the time, planned parenthood either accepts donations for their services or they have a sliding scale fee system that goes by your income. There may be someone that they could refer you to that could find out for sure what you are experiencing and the treatment for it.

Ovarian cysts on the whole depart on their possess in a couple of months. They can both rupture, or spontaneously reabsorb into the frame. Although it's recomended that you just see a general practitioner specifically if the affliction is extreme and you're over baby bearing age. If the affliction is insufferable, and it lasts for greater than three menstrual cycles, its more often than not a well thought to look a general practitioner for the reason that in infrequent factors, melanoma can evolve. Some might participate in surgical procedure at the cyst, however that depends upon the scale, your age, signs, and your want to have youngsters. The general practitioner might also without problems track the cyst. If the affliction is not insufferable, for the reason that you should not have coverage you will have to more often than not wait it out a pair months and desire it dissolves on its possess. Good good fortune!

Ovarian cysts usually go away on their own in a few months. They can either rupture, or spontaneously reabsorb into the body. Although it is recomended that you see a doctor especially if the pain is intense and you are over child bearing age. If the pain is unbearable, and it lasts for more than 3 menstrual cycles, its probably a good idea to see a doctor because in rare causes, cancer can evolve. Some may perform surgery on the cyst, but that depends on the size, your age, symptoms, and your desire to have children. The doctor may also simply monitor the cyst. If the pain isn't unbearable, because you don't have insurance you should probably wait it out a couple months and hope it dissolves on its own. Good luck!

See a doctor right away. I guess it is possible for one to just go away, but it would be a very bad chance to take. My wife had one removed just yesterday along with the ovary it was on. Thank god not cancerous. Insurance or not, see the doc ! Good luck.
