My child peed on the bed and it soaked through to the mattress. I tried wiping it up - but you can't get the urine that soaked into the mattress so it still smells horrible. I have an air purifier and I tried putting it on the spot but that is not helping. I can't be the only person who has ever had this happen. If you have any ideas for cleaning up this stinky mess - they would be greatly appreciated!

Make a wet paste of baking soda. Apply and then let dry. Then vacuum it up. The baking soda neutralizes the uric acid in the pee.

Hi
First thing pick up the large pieces if it is still wet dab area with towels to absorb as much as possible.

Nature’s Miracle should work. It is available at Petsmart. Make sure you follow the direction. The main reason that it fails is that people just sprays it on and wipe it up and not let it soak into the fabric like the urine did. You my need to do this 2 or 3 time. Just reminder that the urine treatment product needs to go where the urine went for it to work properly.
In my experience, Nature's Miracle is your best bet. Good luck!

I find that if you air out the mattress. Then use a spary consisting of 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water. Spary mattress and let air dry again.

Your best bet is to take the mattress outside & let it air dry with the sun. When it is thoroughly dry you can spray it with Lysol or a fabric freshner. Keep that side down in the bed, & purchase a plastic mattress cover.
