I'm not sure what version of Nero you're using, but you need to select the "Make a Music CD" option. Just adding files to the disk won't make it playable in a stand-alone CD player or car. Look for a "Music CD" option ... and it will "close out" the CD and you'll be set to go!

My Nero package has an option to "Create a Music CD".
BUT...
You ca't just take any kind of music file that you may have on your PC and use those files to create a true "Music CD" that will play in you car or your Boom Box.
You can COPY the files, using the "Data CD" option but, for instance, I don't think that you can take a Windows Media Audio File (.wma) or a "Real Player" audio file (.ram and burn these files into a Music CD format that will play off of your PC.
