One twin is usually bigger than the other.
So long as she's not overweight she's fine. It depends on her size, 16 might just be the right poundage for a child her length.

lol..who the hell feeds their 3 month old 8 oz. that girl is some kind of crazy! don't you know their stomachs are still small, they can't handle 8 oz. You are feeding him just fine, don't worry about it, at that stage I was feeding my baby 4 oz as well but if you say he isn't happy afterwards, then try upping it an oz and a half, like 5 1/2 oz. I always did the halves when i upped their my kids oz's cause if i went to a 6 for example, he would always leave an oz or half an oz, so instead of wasting formula i would try halves..i hope that makes sense. Just try giving him a little bit more, maybe that'll make him a happier baby. =)

Well i wouldn't think that 16lbs 6ozs is to heavy. My son just turned four months old yesterday and he weighs a good 18-20 pounds. Hes very long. At 2 months old I switched him to 3-6 month old clothing. Its not that he has a belly its just the fact he is very long the clothing wont fit. I mean at 4 months now hes almost completly grown out of 3-6 month sleepers. Hes in 12 month gerber pj's. Hes just a big boy the doctor said that he is healthy. You cant starve your child. They are gonna eat when they want and soo they are going to be up and running around and be able to burn off what they eat as for now they cant. But just wanted to leave an answer for ya... But no there is nothing wrong with that. Sounds like you have a very healthy baby girl.

My son was 16 lbs 6 oz at 4 months and 10 days. I was concerned that he was too fat and the pediatrician said not at all, just a big, healthy baby! He is now almost 7 months and he is almost 19 lbs, and he looks like he is thinner because he is pretty long: 28.25 inches.

Go onto the Parent's Magazine webpage. There is a link to the Dept. of Health growth chart. You will be able to see the curve, and see where your babies fall in the "percentile".
I am sure you have heard the same song and dance about every baby developing and growing differently. It is true. Every baby grows at different weights. Your doctor will tell you if the weight isn't right, and your baby will be closely monitored for issues. I would ask your doctor if this is cause for alarm.
I wish I could tell you, but I had the opposite issue - my baby didn't hit that weight until around 12 months. She is rather tall and skinny for her age (95th percentile for height, and 25th percentile for weight. . .), so to me, the weight is rather heavy. But I also had to go through the monitoring for my daughter to make sure she was gaining weight properly (the visits once a month, logging what she ate and drank, etc).
Speak to your doctor. Good luck!!

God makes us all different shapes and sizes. My youngest weighed 7 lbs 4 oz at birth. At 4 months he weighed 21 lbs and at 9 months he weighed 30 lbs. He's 3 1/2 and only weighs 40 lbs.

I was also concerned about my sons weight. He is almost 5 months and 17lbs. I asked his doctor and he told me that at this age his weight really wasn't a concern unless he is underweight. He said the weight gain will usually taper off dramatically once they become more active, such as crawling and walking.

depending on her length that's a good weight she seems to be very healthy. my son is 16 pounds and hes 4 1/2 months i thought he'd weigh more but once they get more active the stop gaining so quickly. congrats on your twins and good luck!

My son was off the charts from day one. he was always very long. His dad is 6'5, so it is in his genes. The doctor always said he was fine, and not over weight. I skipped over size 3-6 months because he grew so fast that we never had time to buy any. he is now 2.1 and is in a 4T.

Their weight isn't as important as their growth, so it will depend on what they weighed at birth. If they're gaining too much weight, that is the issue. If they're gaining steadily, you can relax.
Your pediatrician is your best source to chart this for you.
