For the past twelve years they have been saying Republicans were doing everything wrong.

With the Democrats in :

Will there now be fiscal responsibility?

Will they do to their own what they expected the Republicans to do for their own that had improprities?

Will they go back to the tax and spend programs of the past?

Will they really have genuine tax reform or just a bandaid where major surgury is needed?

Will they revise the electoral college so that it reflects the way people vote instead of a winner takes all?

Will those in here who screamed so loudly for impeachment suddenly get larangitis?

Will they become bipartisan and work with the other party?

What part of what they promised will they accomplish in the next two years?

Will they run with the ball or fumble it like they did in 1994.

Remember if you were voted in-- You can be voted out!

I am a liberal who usually votes Democrat. Having said that, I must also say that you make some excellent points. The main thing the Democrats and Republicans can do is to end the pervasive divisiveness in congress. In fairness to the Democrats I will say that the majority in bioth house has completely shut out any ideas differing from their own. The new congress must not make that mistake.

Some of your points, while important to remember, are not quite realistic. The Democrats may have a two vote lead in the Senate and a good lead in the House but the President is still George Bush, Republican. The fair question is what will Democrats, Republicans and the Pressident do now. If the President attemts to work with this congress there can be progress. If he, and/or the minority continue tactics of divisiveness then there will be gridlock.

Your last point still applies. They were voted in and those that put up roadblocks may well be voted out.
