"Dove", the soap company, has a short video that they are using in their campaign for real beauty that I think every girl should see (guys too, for that matter).

I have seen this commercial. All us girls at the office watched it together. It is really amazing and kind of depressing that the media would spend it's time poisoning our minds with false images, just page through any Glamour or Vogue magazine.
Then society demands that we strive to achieve these airbrushed images of perfection without the benefit of our own airbrush.

WOW! You know, my son told me they did this but I didn't believe him. I really cannot believe how beautiful they made her. I know the point you are making and I agree - where is the natural beauty these days, but you have to admit they did wonders to an otherwise dull face. I love what they did with eye shadow because it made her eyes stand out more.
Okay, yes, there's a little vanity in me! I'm also older, so I noticed both points. :)
Putting it into perspective, if I had a daughter, I would definitely help her to concentrate on her natural beauty and not try to look glamorous in such a way that once all the makeup is removed (and air brush effects from photos), what you really have in the end is just you. And you should always love "you" the way you are.

yup i know what you're talkin about..it's funny how hollywood has skinny barbies and all the world sees in america is....well..hollywood!!
then they thing "omg the girls are so hot!"...then in the real world..60% of american babes are fat/overweight.
av hight for women=5'4....wieght=165 ibs...(used to be 145 but it went up)
i don't care about that stuff, it's just funny that this is the real america and the world only sees the 10%=5'11 and 117 pounded women that are thinner than the rest of the country...that's messed up
