Please do not judge those who say you should not have to help your family out. In a crisis, everyone must be accountable to help pull the family through. We may not know your purpose in life, however, I can assure you that this is one of the lessons you will need in preparation for your purpose. I must always remind myself (and so I share with you), GOD may not need you to be in the college setting at this particular time. However, ideal it would be to get your education while you're still young, but you are needed perhaps not mainly because of family but whomever GOD wants you to come in contact with. They need you too. But of course, the thrill is not to know right off the bat but to enjoy the journey towards getting to where you are suppose to be. If you persist in going towards college and you are not suppose to go that route yet, you will endure greater experiences to lead you away from it because you must take another road. So my affirmation to you is, "you are where you are suppose to be at all times for whatever reason you need to learn an experience or connect with others for their experience." Because if you were supposed to be somewhere else - you would be there. Dare to be different, dare to be you, and do it your way, Love your journey by being positive because you never know what blessings are headed your way. Does GOD need to show you by displaying a negative event to happen on college campus at the time you would have been there for you to say that could have been you? Blessings come in many appearances. Look forward to them and know that you can't always have what everyone else has at the same time that they have it. In saying all of this, I know that it hurts but please help your loved ones without guilt, blame or shame. Love and a Smile is the answer. And besides when you needed help in something, I do believe your loved ones stood behind and beside you encouraging and coxing you on.
Much Love

I've been in sort of a similar situation. Just keep busy, and make sure you're always working toward your goals. It might be a little longer to get to them now, but that won't stop you. Don't let it get you down. Think more about your goals than concrete plans. If your goal is there in your mind, you will eventually achieve it. But if you think in terms of concrete plans, any change that life throws you is going to be a defeat to you, even though it's really just a change. Changes like that are what makes life interesting! Also, look on the bright side. You will be that much more triumphant when you do achieve your goal due to the obstacles being thrown your way right now. Good luck.

It will definitely happen for you. Although sacrificing something so life-changing as an education for your family is very noble of you, sometimes you have to put yourself first in certain situations. It was great to do it this time, but something will always occur with family members. It has happened to me constantly. What you're doing now is great. If you can pass the time with a full or part-time job while going to school and saving money, that's phenomenal. And if you haven't already, can you apply for financial aid and claim yourself as an independent?
You're going to get that diploma and because of your trials, graduation is going to be that much more special. Trust me, I was in your situation and had two jobs. Keep your head up, and please continue to follow your dreams.

You can enlist in the military and let them pay for your college education and training. You won't ever have to worry about finances or dorm costs and they provide you with your books and supplies including your PC and anything else you need. Please just talk to a recruiter. I suggest the Navy or Air Force if you are concerned about going into a war situation. You cannot beat the benefits of a military paid college program. And you will be an officer when you finish and can continue your free education for the duration of your military career. Take advantage of this and you can also help out your family financially. Your starting salary is 3 to 4,000 per month. Clarify that with the recruiter also. There are enlistment bonuses for up to 25,000 dollars in specialty fields like air traffic controller or in the medical field.

Well you seem like a pretty good relative to have. First of all you are bummed, naturally. However, why don't you just enroll part time since you are stuck in your area for awhile. go to local school to at least get the ball rolling. Just remember school will always be there and what you sacrificed for your family will come back to you in a positive way.

I don't think it should be your responsibility to support your family. You should look out for yourself so that in the future your kids don't have to support you! You're family should be getting extra jobs to pay for this and you need to go to school. Also, there are loans and stuff that will help allow you to go to school, look into it and NEVER THINK THAT THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY OUT!! THERE ARE ALWAYS OTHER OPTIONS. THINK OUT OF THE BOX!!!!

Does the school offer on-line learning? Did all of your savings have to be depleted? What's left could be used for school
