I need a specific answer - i.e. What is the danger of having a 4th c-section with a 41 year old woman who has had 3 other children by c section?

So long as you're in good health, its not very risky, less risky than vaginal or v-bac.

Your doctor will be able to monitor you and help keep you in good shape for your pending birth :)

40 isnt that old after all, just stay healthy and eat well, stay relaxed.

I don't think there are any specific issues with the c-section within itself, but rather the effects with the baby and the dangers of development during pregnancy. The risk of Down's Syndrome goes up the older you get.

I had my first at 38, and I worried a lot with Down's and other developmental and physical birth defects. But even with the elevated risk, your chances are still better that you will have a normal (well, in the relative term - is anyone "normal"?), healthy baby at birth.

I would ask your doctor about the "dangers" and the issues that could come up in your situation.

Good luck and congrats!!!!

Being 41 and having a child is a risk factor in itself.

Major surgery carries typical risks. A 4th surgery carries more risks than the first.

New research shows that women who undergo multiple cesarean sections are at a greater risk of serious pregnancy complications:

I am planning on trying for my 3rd and final child which will be my 3rd c-section. I am 25 right now and I'M nervous about it all.
