I was supposed to move to Wyoming from Chicago in January to finally finish my education. Because my family needs a large amount of money because if a family emergency I have to give up my savings and put off the move until August. I'm trying to not think about it by finding a part-time job in addition to enrolling in school full-time, but I can't shake the feelin that it's just never going to happen for me.

the key to acheiving anything is thinking optimisticly and hving positive thoughts ... it might sound like a lecture to you but i am talking from experience ... though finishing school is a major thing in life this is a small test that you have to take to face many more obstacles u might face ahead in life ... there are many things you can do in this one year .. dont get upset or demotivated ... the fact that you say u have to postpone your plans till August itself is a big thing .. you did not say - it is never gonna happen now ... remember things do not happen as planned but we can always work around things .. keep your eye on the goal and you will surely achieve it .. all the very best to you ...

Hi,

I understand how you feel. I left my job a few years ago to go to school and I guess I did not factor in all the monetary cost so I had to put it off. Last year I enrolled in college and I think it was the right time. When things like that happen we feel it's the end of the world but sometimes we just need to step back and get all our ducks in a row. In the meantime you can try finding a job and saving some money because school cost a lot. Look at it as a plan differed and one that you can always go back to when the time is right. A delay in your plan right now might be the best thing for you even though it does not feel that way right now. Take a step back and evaluate your plans. You might even change some of it. If it's money that is the problem some school offer an AMS program where you can pay monthly for your education. Hope this helps.

Sounds like you're already making the right choices and taking some classes where you are right now - good for you! Sometimes life throws us curveballs and we have to change our plans but that doesn't mean you can't find another way or get back on track.

You've clearly made priorities in your life and your family is coming first - that's important, but so is your education.

Sit down and figure out what you need to do to reach your goal - whether that means you change your plan and finish your degree in Chicago, or that you put yourself on a tight budget so you can move to Wyoming at a later date, that's up to you. But it will help if you have a goal in mind again, and you can work towards it.

If you are determined and focused, you can make it happen. If your degree will bring happiness to you, then it is worth waiting for.
Have you thought of taking a class in the interim until you are able to move? You can still sign up for classes that start in January. It doesn't even have to be the classes you need for your degree, just something to keep your brain working. AND it usually doesn't cost very much just to take one class. You won't have to pay full tuition.
Just don't give up on yourself. I know that I don't know you, but you are worth whatever it takes to make it happen. Don't let money get in your way of making your dream happen. There is money out there that people are trying to give away to help people go to school. You might want to see an advisor/counselor about scholarships available to you.

I go to school in Wyoming at the University of Wyoming. I will graduate next spring. Choosing this school was the worst decision i have ever made in my life. I would go somewhere else if I were you.

Does the school offer on-line learning? Did all of your savings have to be depleted? What's left could be used for school maybe not full time but something to keep active.
