See a specialist. Time is not running out but it may take a while to get on track.
You said, "first of all he says that nothing looks wrong to him and 2nd he wants me to get on birthcontrol. Please tell me what you think."
This is good small doses of birthcontrol pills are used to regulate the period so you can use a kit that will increase the chance of pregnancy, there are other kits that do not require going on the pill but doctors do have their preferences based on their experiences, or your history.
I think he is a specialist. Your doctor is right, do as he says. This method is now almost perfect science.

I think that first you should get a second opinion. If your period is acting all funny and can't keep it straight it is pretty hard to get pregnant. Talk to another doctor and ask what can be done. If birth control is the only option for straighting out your period then I guess that is what you have to try, but explore all option because it is pretty hard to conceive while on birth control.
When I was younger I was having a lot of problems with my period. I was irregular and off track and in a lot of pain with them. I was given birth control to fix the problem, the only problem was it made it worse.

Get a second opinion, if your doctor knows that your trying to have another baby why would he tell you to go on birth control. See someone else and explain your situation to them and ask them what could it be and if you can do anything about it. You are 29 and alot is going on with your body, ask for an ultrasound to see if anything is going within the uterus. You could be going through menopause. Good luck and I hope that everything works out for you.

Instead of birth control, ask you doctor about Provera. You can still try for a baby and it will help regulate your periods. You are trying to have a child--birth control is not going to help anything
BTW--I would get a new doctor. Any intelligent person can see that things aren't right with your cycles and should be looked into. Your doctor doesn't sounds to helpful.

I would seek a second opinion - you are young and shouldn't be experiencing these irregularities. From experience - if you are concerned then pursue this - you know your body then anyone and should know what feel normal and what isn't.

Have them check you for PolyCystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). Very common, and your symptoms sound just like what a friend of mine has...
GOOD LUCK!!!
