I'm weird...I love to slouch on a couch, but I love to sit up straight in a chair. If the chair is ergonomic of course!

I slouch. I start out sitting up straight, and sometimes I can still hear my mother telling me to sit up straight, but she passed away back when I was 12, and she was 28. God bless her!

We naturally slouch, your question was enough of a mental trigger that I sat up straight. You just have to be conscious of your body and naturally get up occasionally. We weren't meant to sit all day long.

When I was young, if I slouched my parents poked me in the back with their fingers. Now that I'm in my 30s I walk and sit with my back completely straight. Guess I'll always be thinking one of my parents is behind me about to poke me. lol.

it could be something as serious as disc or nerve problem. i would be getting checked out asap to see if you need some sort of surgery before the problem gets worse and irreparable. my dad has done a disc in his lower back and unfortunately no surgery can fix it. he just gets cortozone shots every now and then to alleviate the pain. the specialist told him that losing weight (he is 100+ kilos and 55 yrs old) is a major part in relieving back pain. all the best.
