At 3 weeks old has anyone experienced their babies eyes going different directions? Is it just them trying to focus on things and not being able to see so well?

Yeah, its totally normal for new borns. They dont have ocular control at that age. Usually by 4 months things start to straighten up.

I answered this in your other question but it is completely normal for a newborn's eyes to wander. They are just learning how to focus.

You don't need to worry unless you start to see a consistent crossing closer to the age of 1.

This is totally normal. Go get a copy of the American Academy of Pediatrics Guide from Birth to Age 5. It will save you a ton of worry and asking questions like this.

Yes, At this age, babies haven't really been using their eyes much, but now that they are able to focus, they have to learn to do it. It makes their eyes do strange things, but you can at lest take comfort in the fact that your baby is learning to see!

My sister was born with a lazy eye. She had to wear glasses and a patch on her non-lazy eye to gain musle in the weaker eye. She also had to get sergury when she was 8, to make her eye striaght.
Now she still cant see well, she says everything is fuzzy, and when she wears her glasses everything looks big. She says she cant see well durning night time when she drives, the lights are bright and blurry.

Bring your kid to an eye doctor. I think he may suggest an eye patch for now untill your kid is older to wear glasses.
