only she didn't know he was married until he fessed up to her on their second 'date'. It has knocked her confidence so bad that she has decided to go travelling for 6 months just to have some 'me' time. Will she be ok? I'm worried about her travelling on her own being this vulnerable and cannot afford to go with her....what is your opinion?

Keep being there for her. At least she cut off the relationship once she found out. She can give herself credit for that.. it is not her fault, let her know this and be supportive.

You don't leave the country because it didn't work after the second date - not unless you're a scary intense kind of person - that's a bit extreme. I suspect your friend's been thinking about travelling for a while and just needed a reason to go do it. If not, and she's really doing this cause of him being married, you need to encourage her to stay and maybe go in a few months as she probably won't have thought it through properly and will no doubt end up in trouble.

That is rough, but better to know now then after being "with" that looser for 1 or 2 years.

having that type of thing happen shakes you to the bone and you question people in general.

If she needs to have that time, let her. You have your responsiblities, nice that she can just stop and go for 6months. Not everyone has that time. Let her go, but make sure she can contact you if need be. Check in and make sure she is ok.

Your friend went in to this relationship with an open heart, dude was lying.

What a rat fink, I hate that crap. Injuries of the heart/mind scar in ways others can't see and or understand.

How badly can she be hurt over this guy if she only dated him twice?? If her confidence is that bad in herself maybe you should take her to a self-confidence class...etc. It sounds like this is just an excuse for her to run away for 6 months travelling and what could that hurt!! If I had the money I would be doing some traveling and my self confindence is pretty high...smiles.

To be frank I think your friend is over-reacting a little. You say she only had 2 dates with this cheater, yet she's allowing him to ruin her confidence. It doesn't all ring true as I don't really believe someone with little confidence would consider travelling alone for 6 months. Someone needs to stand back here and look at the whole picture - get a grip !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only thing you can really do is support her decisions...I think it's a good idea for her to get away! Tell her to call you every time she stops ...then that will put your mind at ease! It's sweet you care about her like that! She's lucky to have you!

She will be ok. The relationship cant have been that deep if she had just 2 dates.
Ask her to keep in contact (phone/Email) and tell her to have fun

She'll probably be okay, just let her know you'll be there for her if she needs to talk. She'll need her friends now more than ever, but hopefully she'll get over it quickly as they hadn't been together long.
