you can fix this yourself but might take a little while. I've done this many times for myself and friends computers. Basically you have spyware, probably tons of it on your computer.
1. go to add/remove programs in your control panel. delete anything that has the word "toolbar". Also, look through the list and delete anything you think shouldn't be on your computer. Possible things could be Wild Tangent, MyWebSearch, or anything that looks suspicious.
2. get these two programs. http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10401314.html?tag=lst-0-1 and http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10399602.html?tag=lst-0-1
these programs will be used to locate the spyware on your computer and remove them. install both programs and update each one.
3. run one of the programs. delete anything it finds (might say "fix" problems.) now run the other program and do the same.
4. restart computer. this should improve performance significantly. you also might have to run those programs a few times. It is also good to run those programs once a week to keep your computer clean. and always make sure you update those programs.
5. this might not have completely solved your problem, but this will help GREATLY.

Hi there,
Unfortunately you have been infected with a form of malware
The best and easiest way to remove this infection is by installing the Free Trial of Prevx1. This will scan your PC and remove this and any other infections free of charge.

As a side note - The guy who thinks Linux is immune to viruses is talking absolute rubbish. There have already been viruses appear on the Linux Operating System, but it is simply not a viable target for virus makers due to the tiny amount of people who use it. However, it has recently been reported that more virus writers are turning their attention towards linux, and it's only a matter of time before this too will be suffering.

Your current antivirus software may have been compromised. First disable the services that are in windows services (start > run > then type in "services.exe" w/o quotes > hit enter). After disabling you antivirus services download and install Active-Virus-Shield.
http://www.activevirusshield.com/antivirus/freeav/index.adp?
Installing this may remove your current program so make sure you have all your serial #/ codes before installing AVS. when the computer reboots after install AVS, it will ask you to perform a full scan of your computer. Tell AVS to scan your hard drive. When the scan starts click the close button in the lower right corner of the new window. The scanning will continue in the background and you can continue to use your computer as you normally do. If Active-Virus-Shield finds something a warning will show up in the lower right corner of your screen near the clock. Follow the recommendations and when the scan is finished you will have a 'recovered' pc. After everything is fixed you can remove AVS and re-install (if necessary) you old antivirus program...
Good Luck...

Give up using Windows, and install Linux on your computer. Linux is immune to all viruses, malware, spyware and adware.
Linux is a complete operating system that is either free or very cheap ($10-$30) and comes bundled with a huge variety of free software.
The Linux desktop is amazingly flexible and customizable, and anyone who is used to Windows will soon feel comfortable with it - and shocked by how dull their old Windows system looks by comparison! For example, in Linux you can use up to twenty (yes twenty) separate desktop work spaces - Windows only gives you one.
Go to www.distrowatch.com to find out how to get all the popular flavors of Linux...
...then do an image search for Linux screen grabs on Google.
BE COOL - GET LINUX
