Analog means there are infinitely many possibilities for the answer, like the weather. At any given time the weather temperature is constantly changing. If it is 69.12 degrees right now, it might be 69.34 degrees in 30 seconds. The comparison is usually to digital, which only has two choices. Digital is either off or on, there is no in between choice.
Compare an ordinary light switch to a dimmer switch. With the ordinary switch, the light is either off or on, like digital. With the dimmer switch, the light has an endless spectrum of how much you turn the light on, like analog.

Old clocks and sound devices used the analog system, they work on a series of tones and pulses, with the newer sound equipment it is a digital system, like computers it is now a series of numbers and sequences of pulsed bursts.
Like LCD clocks and monitors, it is a electrical pulse fed through a liquid crystal apparatus that form it in to colours panels to refect the impulsed imagines
