The best way to answer this question is to pick one up and count.

First you have to know what each shape is!

A cube is like a die you roll in games. (2 of them are called dice) It is a solid (3D) based on a square. it has 6 faces, all of which are squares.

A cuboid is a solid (3D) based on a rectangle. All the faces may be rectangles or 2 may be squares, while the other 4 are rectangles. a cardboard box (grocery carton is a good example of a cuboid.

If I were you, I'd get a felt tipped pen, ink each corner in turn, numbering each corner as you ink it.

Ideally use a different colour of felt tip to draw along each of the edges, numbering as you go.

Lastly use a third colour to number each of the faces.

When last looked at a cube , it had 8 corners, 12 edges and 6 faces. All the edges were th same length and all the faces were square.

Now try it with a cuboid. It's easy to mark the corners, edges and sides of a grocery carton.

8 corners, 12 edges and 6 faces. The cuboid is different in that not all the edges have the same length and at least some of the faces are rectangles.

You could say that a cube is a SPECIAL CASE of a cuboid in which all the edges are of equal length and all the faces are square.

cube : Sides = 6 corners = 8 edges =12

cuboid is the same.

cuboid is like a cube but longer like a cereal box.

If you imagine a dice (die), the sides (or faces) are the bits with the dots on, the corners are where the edges meet and the edges are the lines that meet up in the corners.

Hope this helps.
