The quad 4 engine is notorious for needing the coil tower replaced (that big white thing that has the spark plug boots hanging from it). This item runs around $125. Don't be cheap or you will be right back where you are now. Also, I would spend the $6 a piece for the spark plug boots.

No you have a short in the housing. you have to replace the coil pack. not to hard to do

No, but it does look really cool in the dark after a few drinks. It's probably a cracked housing.

Never, you have a problem. It sounds like you need a new coil.

absolutely NOT!!! put new plug wires on. at least put the one on that is arcing.The wire is broken some where and it is arcing at the path of less resistance wich is at the coil.also new plugs
