I have just bought norton internet security and save and restore programs....?

Question

I have just purchased a new laptop and norton internet security 2007 which comes with free save and restore disk, i think i have loaded the internet security succesfully and only partially managed to laod the save and restore before i had to log off. Now when i try to load save and restore it says it cannot read from the disk. The disks didn't come with many instructions which isn't very helpful, all i no how to do is install it and its not letting me, Is it safe to use the internet on my new laptop (sony vaio) and how can i tell all the security stuff has loaded correctly. I have registered with Norton but cannot find any additional information on there website! what exactly does save and restore do... also with the internet security how can i tell the status of all the componanants, see see if virus blocker and firewall are functioning correctly.... please help me, i am really unsure what to do and dont want my new laptop to break!!! please please please.... thank you!
