You can go to the mortuary of choice and make payments plans well ahead of time. It is the wisest thing to do, rather than leave the burdens of decision and expense to your remaining family members. I've already done it, so I know. Once I'm gone the only thing my children must do is contact the mortuary and buy flowers, if they chose to have them. Everything else is already planned and paid for. I didn't want them to have to do this and add additional stress to the situation. Besides, I have learned that families go way overboard financially in making final arrangements, feeling that this is the last thing they can do for the person that has gone on. Your family can find some peace in knowing that you planned it your way. Good luck.
