Iam currently using almay healing blemishes make up and it doesnt break me out or anything , its a good make up but it doesnt last for the whole day and it doesnt cover as much as i want it ( i use the concealer , liquid and the powder all togather) i do have acne , mild to moderate and iam treating it but i want to cover it up for now

I would like to know really good make up brands ( includes concealer , liquid and powder make up ) from your experience , something covers those red marks and the acne as well , doesnt look cakey on the face and something for oily skin so i want it to keep me shine free all day , doesnt clog pores and is not so bad for the skin

If there is a good brand that i can find in the drug stores then please state it as well , if you have other brands state the links or give me the names and i will look them up.

So many people that I know are using the Bare Escentuals line:

http://www.bareescentuals.com/

It seems like a bit of a process, but once you get used to it goes very fast, and has long lasting, complete coverage.

You can get it a Sephora, if there is one near you.

Hiya,

Regarding makeup, what kind you use makes a big big difference.

I recently discovered "Mineral Foundation". This kind of makup is actually healthy. Its natural minerals crushed so pure and fine, that its almost like dust. With a simple "kabuki Brush" you brush this makeup onto your face and in 5 minutes you have a flawless face. Not only is it not harmful, but its actually 'helpful' to your skin. The minerals have beneficial properties and if you have acne, this is especially important.

Since mineral makeup is so Light and Airy, it doesn't block up your pores and it won't 'melt' giving you a shiny look. Its light, doesn't clog pores, and has superb coverage. Its also very easy and quick to apply. In 3 minutes your face is done.

I got my makeup from http://www.everydayminerals.com as I've found their stuff to be great, and cheap. You can order a sample kit from their site.

You would order 1 or 2 colors that match your skin tone (you can mix and match, and mineral makeup is very forgiving. You don't need to get an exact match as its not a thick paste. it blends in beautifully). I would also recommend you get a green mineral makup powder and a concealer. The green is a fine green dust that you apply that takes away redness. its weird how great it works. It creats an illusion. You dust on the green, and the red dissapears. Next you'll dust on the concealer over the bad spots. lastly, you'll dust on the foundation. If you aren't satisfied with your results, dust on a bit more. you can add as much as you want and still not be caked up. The 'mineral dust' is so fine, its like smoke. It blends in for a beautiful flawless finish. All this stuff is sold by everydayminerals.com. I ordered my stuff from there bc I found they had the cheapest prices. There are several otehrs out there. They also gave me a free sample kit so that got me hooked. You may see "ID MINERALS" or "BARE ID MINERALS" - that's another company. Other people that answered your question mentioned it.Their stuff is extremely overpriced so I avoid that. Also, their stuff contains a certain ingredient (bismuch something or other) that can cause shinyness. Needless to say, I avoid all their products. I have a blush I bought from them (about $20) and I'm using that. but no more. I got my whole face kit from everydayminerals at that price ;)

Lastly, for touchups and or shiny emergencies, there are these really cool 'blue sheets' that you dab onto the face and it absorbs shine. Its not a powder that blots. Its a special absorbent cloth. Its called "& Clear Instant Oil-Absorbing Sheets". Comes in a handypack of 50 that can fit in a purse or anywhere. You can buy them for like $4 a package, or you can purchase them on ebay for alot less.

This is an absolute must have if you're prone to shinyness.

So lets just go over the routine. You wash in the morning and evening. You apply mineral foundation which is light and airy and sweatproof. You use these blue clean and clear sheets in an emergency.

You will have a smooth flawless complexion and everyone will be jealous :)

I use Mary Kay, and have since I snuck into my mother's stash when I was 11. Unfortunately, at the age of 27 I am experiencing adult-onset acne, so I use my Mary Kay foundation (www.marykay.com) after I apply MaMa lotion to my face (www.skincarerx.com). The MaMa lotion is a natural antibiotic combination that helps to dry lesions, prevent future ones, and fade scars. It's a bit pricey, around $40, but 1 bottle lasts almost a year.

Apply the Mama lotion after cleansing, and let dry for 10 minutes or so (this would be the point in my morning routine I do my hair). Then I moisturize with a light MaryKay lotion that has SPF, and then apply foundation, and everything else your heart desires. As an added bonus, Mary Kay is hypoallergenic and has a money-back guarantee. And so does the MaMa lotion, if purchased from skincarerx and returned within 90 days.

Yeah I had the same problem when I was younger too. What I use is MAC. They match the make-up to your complexion and it makes your face look flawless. Ask for Studio Fix. In stead of using a concealer use eyedrops on your really red breakouts, take a swab and soak it in the eyedrop liquid and put it on the pimple for a few seconds. The redness will come off. You wont break out this make-up. just remember to get a really good cleanser. I prefer a bar soap with oatmeal in it, itl removes access oil. Also get an astringent, Neutrogena's
Clear Pore (the blue one)for after you wash your face to remove any make-up the soap didnt get off:)

Estee lauder Or Prescriptives. They specialize in makes for people sithe skin problems, you will love it. Prescriptives also is the leader in skin airbrushing and make up they can cover anything. and it will stay on until you clean it off with the proper cleanser

I have been using Everyday Minerals. You can purchase it by going to everydayminerals.com. The great thing is that you can order sample kits only paying a small S&H fee and it is so much less expensive than Bare Escentuals and the others. It is great and the online help they provide there is wonderful via email. I love this product and they have for normal skin, combination, dry and oily. I think you will like it.

I have very oily and acne scarred skin. I use Bare Minerals and I absolutely love it. I won't use anything else. I use their mineral foundation and then finish it off with their Mineral Veil. My skin looks the best it ever has. You can purchase Bare Minerals on line or at Ulta. I highly recommend it. It feels really good on your skin too. Not greasy or cakey.

Benefit makes great foundation, concealer, and powder. it really evens out the skin tone, and takes away the redness. the non-fiction foundation is the one i like, also they have concealers that are colored to suit your skin tone AND reduce redness. and a yellow-based powder to even out the skin tone even more. you can get it through sephora or macy's. oh, and for your acne, i know you said you're treating it but just remember not to over-cleanse, because you can dry out your skin too much and make the problem worse. and make sure you moisturize even though you may not think you need it. EVERYONE needs it.

You can buy the clinique line. It's a bit pricey but it's meant for acne prone skin. You can also buy MAC makeup....they have a good cover up concealer.

I love palladio from sally beauty supply - it's all natural so it doesn't break me out - and it's available in wet/dry foundation, powder, and liquid plus concealers blush, eyeshadow/eyeliners, mascara and lipstick/gloss
as for covering red marks - green concealer does this the best (which palladio does carry)
