We have tried sending numerous emails using Outlook with attachments of both PDF and DOC extentions. When using outlook express, the attachments either arrive as .dat files or do not arrive at all. Is there a configuration problem that we have with Outlook or Express?

In outlook express, go to Tool -> Options
then click on 'Security' tab and uncheck 'Do not allow attachments to be open or saved'.

Then click ok.
