We just had my daughter's pictures done at Sears in September and they turned out great! The photographer was just awesome working with a 7 week old baby. We joined the Smile Savers Club, so for the next two years we don't have to pay any sitting fees any time we want to get pictures taken.

If you're interested in seeing how my daughter's Sears pictures turned out I would be happy to e-mail a couple to you so you can see the quality of them. They don't look cheesy at all.

My e-mail address is jlferick@hotmail.com

We've been to almost all of the major chains. There is no best one. Wal-mart is usually the cheapest, but if you have coupons to the others they are not that expensive. As for the quality of the photo it depends on the photographer. I have had bad experiences with sears, Wal-mart, k-mart and others. A picture of your baby is always the cutest though

We always get our portraits done at sears. Each studio depends because of the different employees working there. OUr sears has the best team of photographers. They will work so hard to get that perfect pose and sweet grin. They are always coming up with cute and sweet props and poses and background ideas. WE have 3 kids under age 5 which can take awhile to have pictures done=== they are wonderful with them, they can make them do things that we can't... i hope that you find one-because when you've got little ones you have tons of pictures made.

I like JC Penney the best. They are the cheepest and if you get a Parenting mag or Parents mag there is often a coupon for free sitting fees and free 8x10's and then you can buy sheets for 3.99 each. Just let the photographer know what you want and you won't get cheesy. Good luck

All the photographers at the different chains go through training. Ask around your local area. I personally go to walmart during their specials and I pay extra for the CD because I have a great quality printer and I can send the pics through email to family (we're USAF).

Portrait Innovations are the best. You get your portraits the same day and what I like is that they use digital cameras so they can capture your child's facial expressions easier than having them have to focus on the camera and smile. Here is there site to see if there is one in your area:

We always get ours done at Target. The poses were really natural, and I liked that they kept the kids on the ground instead of up on that table thing. My daughter got to kind of roam around a little and we got the cutest pics!
I think it depends on the person who is actually taking the pictures to make them good though, not the actual place you get them done at.
