Get a Honda. They run forever and currently are some of the best gas savers. I have a new Civic and I'm so happy with it. Sometimes I think the gas meter is broken because it doesn't seem to go down fast enough. It has a different looking speedometer (it's digital) but I got used to it really fast and is much easier now to see. So happy with it!

It really depend on what type of car you like and brand
If you like domestic cars (ex: ford, chevy,....)
Chrysler 300, dont buy the Ford mustang (its overdone), pontiac solstice, Saturn Sky, thats it if you prefer these type of cars
For imports, there are many, sports, sedans, luxury, i'll give you some name
Acura RSX, BMW 3-Series, Civ or Accord (for fuel economy), Infinity G35 (sporty and luxury) Lexux IS, Mazda RX8, Mitsubishi Eclipse, or Lancer (Evo is racing car, Ralliart is somewhat racing, but still a sports coupe-but dont buy the Evo yet, cause Mitsu will be making a new design for next year), thats it
Eventhough these may be cars, these will last you very long.
Good Luck

Depends what you're looking for. There are lots of new hybrid cars being made, and they save money in quite a few areas. OR.... if y;ou really don't care about money, then you could go for something nice like Mercedes... $35,000 would get quite a nice car, like maybe an C-class sedan or something similar. If you were looking for a two seater then get something sportier
hope this was helpful

Seen the commercial when the shopping cart bangs into the side door. No Dent! And when the kid was hitting it with a baseball bat? No Dent!

The Honda Civic SI is my dream car, especially now that the Sedan is available. Check out honda.com The SI comes fully loaded, and I mean FULLY and I believe the 2 door is around $20,000. You can drive that thing forever, too. Hondas also don't depreciate as quickly as other makes.

for a sedan, you can't go wrong with an Acura TL, reliable and very nice ride. Its the upscale version of the Honda Accord.....to go smaller and safe, go with a volvo s40. Vovlo's are rock solid but have some reliablity issues.

Pretty broad range there. Are you looking for sporty, fuel efficient, luxury, size... SUV, truck, car... Four door, two door...
With a range of $35000 and wheels you've got most cars on the road within your range.
