Since half of all americans have never heard of her that means that over half the people who have support her. Better than Bush's and most of the rest of Congress' aproval rating. Not to mention she was already house minority leader, why would she not then become majority leader. Just making things up doesn't really help your case

Congresswoman Pelosi was largely responsible for the democrats successful race in the House. No one else came close to the millions of dollars she raised for the candidates. She was responsible for bringing the democrats together and she headed the re-election committee.
Remember, at some point everyone in politics was an unknown. She will not be an unknown woman now.

What's Hastert's %? 2%?
She was the minority leader. It's a natural progression to Speaker of the House.

This speaks volumes. Even though she polls miserably, and people knew that a Democratic vote was a vote for her to be Speaker, they still voted Democrat.
Imagine what would have happened if the Democrats had a speaker that polled well.

Because we are tired of having the bumbling republicans in power. Pelosi was the lesser of two evils. I'm cautiously optimistic of how she will do.
