i am a beginner. i need instructions to knit a small bag. i know to knit. i have knitted a scarf. please help

Well, you could knit two identical squares for the size bag you want, then whipstitch them together. Or knit one large square and fold it over, and whipstitch the edges together.

Look through www.freepatterns.com, they might have what you want.
