Many Philosophers and Theologians have tried but there is no disputable argument that proves or disproves God. If it is therefore simply a matter of faith shouldn't we drop it as an intellectual discussion; is God's existance in fact meaningless?

Nope. If the belief in God keeps some people on the straight and narrow, then let them believe. If you don't, then don't.

God's existence can be proved or disproved. But you have to follow a logical sequence of proving statements which will lead to the final proof. Before trying to prove anything, you have to empty your mind of all biases and views about whether God exists or not. Now, for the proof. See yourself. See your body, face, etc. Your body has all the same number of eyes, feet, fingers, bones, ears, nose, arms, legs, etc. Now some people will say that not everyone has all these things in the same number. But the difference in percentage is very big, e.g. 90% of total world population might have the same number of eyes, feet, fingers, bones, ears, nose, arms, legs, etc. while the other 10% might have lesser number of the body parts. Pure coincidence cannot result in this huge difference of percentage. For example, if you throw a dice, the probability of a six coming will not be 90%. But we know that the probability of a new child having 2 eyes, 2 ears, 1 nose, 2 arms, 2 legs, 2 feet, etc. is 90% or more. Is that pure coincidence? Definitely not. There is an order in the universe. You cannot see God because if you were able to understand God with any of your senses directly, you would be at God's level of understanding which would imply that God is not more supreme than you. This implies that anything which can be comprehended by your senses cannot be God because God is supreme and cannot be at your level of understanding. Why have you never seen a man with his arms in place of his legs and his legs in place of his arms? Why is the Earth always revolving around the Sun? Why are we not able to stop our hair from growing, stop our nails from growing? Why have we never seen a human with blue coloured blood, green coloured blood, purple coloured blood? Why is blood always red? Coincidence should have produced blue blood. Why is there such a definite pattern in the universe? Who is controlling the patterns? If there are so definite patterns, there must be a Supreme Being whose orders are being followed by the universe to follow the patterns and not deviate from the patterns. This Supreme Being is God and as God is a Supreme Being, God can never be understood by the senses of a human being unless God himself desires. God desired this for only some humans which God chose as Prophets, Messengers. Can anyone give me another reason for this order and fixed patterns and discipline in the universe?

Certainly not meaningless to those who believe, but it is a simple matter of faith; there is no proving or disproof. That's why there are so many versions of the same thing: every religion that has ever been has their own Supreme Being. Sometimes multiple figures, but all have their version. And they're all right. Their own Supreme Being will kick the butt of any other. Thus the reason for all strife and animosity that has occured throughout human history.

I don't believe so. Faith in god is something you are either willing to accept or not, there is nothing out there that can adequately prove or disprove the existence of God, or an otherwise external power. (Gravity doesn't count.)

I don't believe that the subject should be dropped because it is an interesting way for us as humans to examine the human phyche and the extent human perception of what might be beyond ourselves out of our control and scientific understandings.

No, the concept of faith and trust is believing in what cannot be proved. In time, probably not in our lifetime, science will prove the existence of God. Many see science as trying to disprove that God exists...but they are mistaken.

Gods existence can be proven with evidence. To date, there has not been one scintella of evidence provided. To say the bible says so is not proof. To say that sunsets, butterflies and complex human organisms is proof, is also not evidence, that's using CAVE MAN logic (ie, explaining one unknown with another, but proving nothing).

To disprove god's existence is an impossibility, since a negative can never be logically proven...no matter what you're talking about.

No. Theists won't be in a position to supply verifiable info of a God, anymore than i ought to show the life of an invisible unicorn in my storage that could neither be felt nor heard. on the different hand, the form of theory is impossible to disprove. regardless of if this is often the duty of a individual making a declare to show it, no longer for others to disprove it. and due to this easy rule of wonderful judgment, until eventually God himself pops down from the sky for each individual to make certain, atheists and agnostics will win a rational debate each and every time.

No, Proof or no proof by man whom God created. Can ever prove or dis-prove the existence of God. There are Millions of people out there, That thru their inter-action with God is willing to say that God does exist beyond any reasonable doubt. And in spite of your pain and your own disillusionment can not negate the existence of God. I know that you might have asked God for something and did not receive in the manner you were expecting. So all I can say to you is that our father has the right to say no to your prayers no matter how you may feel about that. But all your common sense should tell you not to give up and try again. For I know beyond any doubt that your mind can conceive of, that God does exist and he does does answer prayers..............................................

I joined a car forum as a way to use my car to reach out to others. surprisingly, there were a lot of discussions about christianity/evolution, etc... Here is what i came to one day....

i dont think we will EVER be able to prove whether or not God exists. By "be able to prove" i am refering to finding hard evidence. I also believe this is the way God meant for it to be!! If you think about what faith is, faith would not exist if we knew for a fact whether or not God existed. but faith is what God wants us to have/develop with/in Him. this is why i think we will not be able to prove or disprove His existence... well, until its too late at least!

I believe His existence can be proved. When we die and we get there, it will be proved. However, just for the sake of argument. I don't think there's anyway to Disprove His existence. If in fact He doesn't exist, when we die, that will be IT, we will learn nothing further.

If God really exist ,then all people young and old must find him individually own there own without the help of religion or prophets.
that is the only way to prove his existence.
