i have to teach a few kids about tessellations. i learned about them back when i was in 5th grade but that was such a long time ago that i cannot remember how to do them. i am not talking about simple ones such as squares or triangles. i am talking about the ones you make out of paper and then trace and rotate and other things to make it fit together. can anybody tell me how to do that or give me good websites?

I like tessellations.org.. they have a "Do It Yourself" section that explains it pretty well.

My younger brother's class just did a project on tesselations. They started with a hexagon and cut pieces out of between one and three of the sides, then taped them to the opposite side of the hexagon. It works pretty well for a beginner project.
