After all, it's not as if Bush has actually caught him, or anything, even though 5 YEARS have passed since the 9/11 attacks. One would think that if Bush were so strong on national security, he would have caught bin Laden long before he went after Saddam Hussein.

I have no idea why conservatives would do such a thing, considering it is Bush that has traceable business ties with the Osama Bin Laden family. Hmmm.....?

It's a common election tactic, and both sides do it. Attempting to demonize your opponents by associating them with either the most radical elements of their ideologies or with completely ridiculous ideas is nothing new. It's kinda like a decade ago - and in many areas, still happening - when Democratic candidates accuse their Republican opponents of wanting to take away Social Security, Medicare, school lunches, etc. even when they know it ain't so.
Simply put, people fear the boogeyman, and what better way to get them to vote for you than by insinuating that your opponent is down with him?
