Just kidding, it could be number of things. If the car starts "sputtering" when you accelerate or if your going uphill it may be a clogged fuel filter. If you find it runs rough most of the time, even while idling, it may need new plugs or a timing belt (tune-up), maybe one of your fuel injectors is clogged?

It's really hard to say unless you have someone look at it, but those are some very common problems. When was the last time you changed your air filter? It's also possible, though not likely that you have water in your gas tank.
