My boyfriend agreed to take me out somewhere nice for our one year next month.

But this guy hardly ever dresses up!

He has a pair of dress pants, that fit him on his hips (hes a little heavier, so trying to get him to wear something at his waist is just akward).

But they do not fit him anywhere else. They're way too tight on his butt, and he still thinks they fit.

We've tried big and tall stores, but we keep running into the same problem. They'll fit around the middle, but basically his butt is too big.

Has anyone else had this problem? What did you do about this?

Help! I want my fancy dinner!!

I didnt even think about just getting them tailored!! Shows just how clueless I am about mens fashion!

Thanks so much!

Get a pair that is a size up, and have it tailored. You will be VERY surprised and pleased at the result and how little tailoring costs. Try major Dept. stores, they usually have a tailor on premises.

It would help to know his proportions, but try to stick w/ a stretch fabric (try Kenneth Cole, Banana Republic, Gap, etc.) and keep in mind that they will stretch (especially ina lwer waist), so buy it a in a stretch just a bit tight, keep the tags on & have him wear it around the house (sit, relax just as he would normally) and I'm sure you'll see a difference. Oh, absolutely avoid pleats! They make it worse. Stick to a flat fron western pocket (not angled or they'll pull) straight leg (No tapering at all) and I'm sure he'll get a better fit. Good luck! Congrats on the one year!
