Does the car have a carburetor?

Moisture in the petrol could cause an ice ball to form in the carburetor cutting off fuel to the engine.

Leaving the car sit for a few minutes will melt the ice and it will run fine again until the next ice ball forms.

drive-belt failure ! do not attempt to restart the engine if this happens it will do serious engine damage or failure!push to the side of the road and get a tow-assistance truck to tow u to a garage.
