who is known professionally as Lisa Bonet, is an American actress who is a native of San Francisco, California. Of African-American and Jewish ancestry.Bonet actually began acting when she was 11, attending many auditions and participating in several television commercials before she became a star.
Denise was the "unique" child, the black sheep of the family. She had her own way of doing things, right down to the style of clothing she wore. After graduating high school, she left for Hillman College in 1986 (a year later, this would become the setting for the spin-off A Different World), but returned two years later with news that she was dropping out. She eventually decided to become a photographer's assistant, and left for Africa for a year. When she returned, she had yet another bombshell: she had become a wife and mother while over in Africa. She married a navy man, Martin; who had a child, Olivia, from a previous marriage. During the final season, Denise travelled with Martin as he was stationed in Asia. Olivia stayed behind with Cliff and Clair.

After Denise went to college on The Cosby Show -- I think after Season 3 or early Season 4 -- she was given her own spinoff to follow her life at Hillman, called A Different World. After the first season though she got pregnant in real life and was written out. The show got a new cast and Denise appeared every now and again while at the same time appearing randomly on The Cosby Show. Seasons 6 and 7 she came back to Cosby full time and ditched the spinoff all together. No fights as far as I know.

The movie was called Angel Heart. Lisa Bonet played the part of Denise from the Cosby Show and starred in the movie as well.
