City:
Noisy
Polluted
No privacy
Construction
Traffic
Lots of people
Higher Taxes
Crime
Homeless people/Bums
More Jobs
More Shopping
Country:
Few Jobs other than farming
Longer commute to city
Longer commute to get groceries/good/clothes
Lower Taxes
Lower Crime
Clean Air
Sometimes lower gas prices
Cheaper insurance (auto)
Harder to get Cable TV/DSL
And as far as water and electricity in the country, my parents have 15 acres but they have a water well (water pumped from a fresh spring in the ground to the house)
I hope that helps a little...Good luck

ok,i know cities r noisy and polluted, and the cost of living is much higher than that in the rural ares, but what other drawbacks does a city have?
And can i include in my essay that, the government should be held responsible for eliminating the drawback of insufficient water & electricity...

In my city the very rich people live in apartments downtown, just outside of downtown lives the lower income people, just outside of that it is mixed and far away from downtown are normal suburbs and country. Most people downtown either cannot afford or do not wish to own a car, therefore they try to be on a bus line for transportation. Buses are crowded usually, and it takes anywhere from an hour to three hours to get where you are going depending on how many transfers you have to make. Water and electricity is even among the whole city so that is not a problem. I am in a VERY large city that has about 1 million people in it.

Actually you would be suprised it does cost a lot to live in the country too. Housing cost may be more in the city but actually living expenses tend to be more in the country. There is less of a depend for products so stores buy less so the dont get for the same price so the have to charge more. Same with utilites they have to go that much further to get to you so the prices tends to reflect that also. You also have to realise that jobs pay less in the country.

Do you want to point out the Pro's of living in the City. I live downtown and I love it.
I am exposed to a lot of culture and art and never lacking anything to do. My property value has gone up quicker than anyone I know who lives outside the city. I drive less, therefore save on gas (therefore I contribute less to pollution). I get plenty of exercise walking and, in the winter, ice skating.

I've lived in both major metropolitan areas and rural areas, so I'll try to give you my take on the subject.
Cities:
Polluted -- car emissions, factory emissions, ect.
Crowded, lack of privacy
Noisy
High cost of living
Better stores & selection (Target, WalMart, Old Navy, ect.)
Better prices on large items (stoves, fridge, cars, ect.)
More & better employment opportunities
Better educational opportunities (charter schools, community colleges, 4-year colleges, training schools, ect.)
Larger classroom size for younger children
Rural Areas:
Polluted -- farm chemicals, cow flop, ect.
Wide-open spaces, lots of privacy
Quiet
Lower cost of living
Fewer stores, less selection
Further to drive for more selection
Higher prices on large items (stoves, fridge, cars, ect.)
Fewer employment opportunities
Less educational opportunities (charter schools, community colleges, 4-year colleges, training schools, ect.)
Smaller classroom size for younger children

a drawback to rural living is sometimes the nearest hospital is an hour away. This makes it difficult in emergency situtations.

there are no drawbacks for living in a city.
drawbacks of villiages is generally that the medical care is of lower quality, the education is of lower quality, less salaries, less entertainment, less acess to people (you won't be dating as much thats probably one of the reason many southerners and small town people engage in bestiality with farm animals), lack of information access and as such they hold onto less informed and more ignorant beliefs.
They also tend to smell and have annoying accents.
There is a reason why it is called the "boonies" "stiyx" or whatever. People there are generally dumber and less successful as a human bieng because they still live there. The cream of the crop goes to the big city because it takes more to make it there live there and be successfull. The slower "rats" and those who are less qualified to succeed in life tend to flock to these small little towns and villiages where they don't have to compete with people that are superior specimens of a human.
