I like your list the way you have them listed.

There was driver called Tiny Lund that I was told about and they say he was one of the best of the older racers.

I also think Darryl waltrip was very good.

After 1980 I would say Dale Earnhardt Sr was the best and the best ever IMO but it's hard to really compare one generation to another.

Curtis Turner, Fireball Roberts,Tim Richmond,Joe Weatherly,Richard Petty. I can't say Dale Sr. because he came along when the better ones were getting too old.

Yarborough Petty and Allison for sure. maybe Benny Parsons. Dale Earnhardt was racing pre- 80's i think.. He didnt get a cup until 80 or so
