I am conservative, but I respect the rights of the majority of voters to choose our leaders. I voted, and still don't know if the Senator I voted for has won yet... still too close to call.

I will certainly hope that the newly elected officials can do what they need to do. With a large class of Freshmen, though, the effectiveness of the Congress will be lessened while they all get up to speed on the way things are done.

Hopefully, good things will happen for our country. I really do want that for America regardless of who is in power. Also, I will make certain to write to my elected representatives so that they know how I feel about issues, even if they have differing opinions than I do. They still represent me, and it is my job to let them know what I think is important.

No sour grapes here - lets just move on with the business of running the country.

I hear ya and I'm a conservative. I wish the Republicans could have lost without the Democrats winning. However, I guess we got what we deserved. We had 12 years to get some stuff accomplished and really didn't address things like the tax system, social security, school vouchers and immigration. Maybe this will be a wake-up call.

Later note: Well said, Leah.

They will not like it, but they will get a message from this and that is we want representation that listens to our views. We the People are the ones with the real power.
I think both sides will benefit from that lesson.

They may lose the Congress, but the single most powerful man in the world is still a GOP member...the President of the United States.

Did you completely miss the last mid term elections where the Dems were swept from power?

It's just fair turnaround.

I will be disappointed when I pay more in taxes and we lose more lives on American soil. Live it up now, because this is the beginning of a long fall.

With your spelling skills, you would be a Dem. The government funded/teacher-union dominated public schools haven't taught you how to spell "LOSE."

Learn to spell, dude. The Rep's would have done more for education, which is obviously needed.
